Massacre in Korea

The Second of May 1808 by Francisco GoyaGoya paints the second of may as a tribute to those who were fighting against the oppression of the ruling class. Unfortunately, during the early 1800's Spain was dealing with a large amount of corruption. This corruption included the oppression and further separation of wealth and resources away from the people and in the hands of the few who were corrupt and powerful at the time. Even the portrayal of the rich, above on horses, and the poor innocents, below without horses, exemplifies the amount of wealth inequality and oppression of the time.
